Beyonce Blows Up the Web with Surprise Album Release

beyonceBow down indeed. Beyoncé gave fans an early Christmas present Thursday night in the form of the surprise release of her fifth studio album.

The self-titled project features 31 tracks, 14 of which are new songs, including collaborations with big name artists like hubby Jay Z, gal-pals Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Justin Timberlake and her baby daughter Blue Ivy—just to name a few.

And even more than that, the former Destiny’s Child lead singer has released 17 full music videos in conjunction with the album’s release.

“I see music as more than just what I hear,” she says in the clip. “When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion… And I think that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to do a visual album.”

Celebs like Katy Pery, Lily Allen, Snoop Dogg and Abigail Breslin took to Twitter overnight to applaud the singer’s surprise release.

The album is available now exclusively on iTunes.
