by Jenae Boston @Not_YaAvgGirl – It was not long after Beyonce’s performance at the Inauguration that news outlets began reporting that the famous pop star lip-sync.
Thursday afternoon, she opened up her Super Bowl press conference with, “can you please stand?” Then she sang the National Anthem live to counter all the critics. “Any questions,” she giggled after her amazing performance. “I am a perfectionist,” she continued. Beyonce explained she simply did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra and did not want to take the chance of being off key.
Sunday she will take on the Super Bowl halftime show that some may be awaiting more than the game itself.
She reassured the nation that she “will absolutely be singing live.”
Although she received much criticism, using a “backing track” is very common in the music industry. If one can recall, Whitney Houston used one when she sang the
national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl, which was a great performance just as Beyonce’s Inauguration performance was great.
Sunday performance will be nothing less than spectacular as the singer is rehearsing hard to silence critics. Michelle Williams shut down rumors of Destiny’s Child performing. Will Jay-Z perform? Beyonce refused to give any details at the conference. She has released footage from Super Bowl rehearsals.
2 Dope Chicks can’t wait. In case you missed her singing the “Star-Spangled Banner” live, 2 Dope Chicks got your back!
