It’s been a good year for my favorite producer Pharrell. After winning Grammys, performing at the Oscars, and releasing his album G I R L, the “Happy” hitmaker was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday.

He was joined at the ceremony by his wife Helen Lasichanh and son Rocket, as well as Ellen DeGeneres, who saluted her friend.

“I think Pharrell is a genius and I have been lucky enough to know Pharrell since he was a N.E.R.D., and he has grown into an international superstar,” said the talk show host.

A humbled Pharrell took the podium to thank his music teachers and grandmother. “I’m ever so grateful for this honor,” he said. “I could never properly explain what this means for me, a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, who had no idea where my love of music would ever take me.”

Pharrell received even more good news this morning when he found out that he was nominated for 2015 Grammys including Best Urban Contemporary Album. He will perform during “A Very Grammy Christmas” on CBS tonight.
