Ashtabula Current | Fire destroys Saybrook Township house

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP_Roger Williams was in church Sunday morning we he got a phone call informing him that his house was on fire. He left First Community Church of God on Route 84 and headed home. Upon his arrival, Williams saw numerous fire trucks and smoke pouring out of his home at 7434 Sanborn Road in Saybrook Township. ac ac FB credit two ff hose air pak mask1941

Firefighters from Saybrook, Austinburg and Geneva fire departments responded the fully involved house fire. The house is a wood frame one-story structure with an attached utility room. The house was built by the Williams’ family in 1952 and appeared to be a complete loss. Sanborn Road was closed to traffic as firefighters remained on the scene for several hours.ac ac FB credit ff trio smoking ruins1997

AshtabulaCurrent called Saybrook Fire for more information, but the Chief John Jyurovat was unavailable for comment and only he is allowed to release information according to the Saybrook Township F.D. dispatcher.
