A senior official at a commercial bank in Sangre -Grande which was recently robbed tells News Power Now the institution continues to work closely with police officers who are probing the theft of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Reports say on March 1st about 12.30am, the police received a report from the security guard on duty at the bank that the back door of the institution was forced open.
When officers arrived they reportedly found the vault opened and emptied of its contents.
General Manager Group Marketing and Communications at Republic Bank, Michelle Palmer Keizer, in an interview this afternoon said the institution is cooperating with the police in this matter.

Mrs. Palmer Keizer said in spite of the incident the operations at the bank has not been affected safety and security issues are being reviewed.
