Ardy, Elaine C. of Fingal, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 72. Beloved wife of the late Frank Ardy (2008) and dearly loved mother of Jim Ward (Michelle) of London and Christine Renaud (Michael) of Woodstock. Dear friend of Jim Cushman. Dear sister of Cheryl Pilly (Dave) of Ottawa and Marie Hunter (Earl) of Sarnia. Sadly missed by 7 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Elaine was born in Sarnia on March 18th, 1942, the daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Howard) Owen.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Spring interment in Fingal Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The Williams Funeral Home was founded in 1893 by P.R. Williams and is one of the oldest Funeral businesses in the province. Over the next seven decades the business was passed down through several generations in the Williams Family. In the eariler years they occupied a number of different buildings along Talbot Street and in 1929 they purchased the building at 45 Elgin Street, from which they still operate. In 1966, Gordon Hughson, who had operated the Hughson Funeral Home in Aylmer for the previous twenty one years, purchased the funeral home and continued the long tradition of dedication and service. Currently, the funeral home is operated by his sons, Allan and Gary Hughson.
