Former NFL running back Ricky Williams abruptly ended his career in 2011 after a pit stop with the Baltimore Ravens. It was clear that Williams, a former Heisman Trophy winner still had the skills to get it done, but Williams has been more than open in suggestions that football isn’t the end all for him, despite going into a coaching career.
We touched on one of Williams’ current jobs a few months back, working as a coach for the University of Incarnate Word Cardinals, where for half of the week he lives in a dorm room complete with Spider Man bed sheets, this according to USA Today:
Williams works at UIW Monday to Thursday each week, sleeping in a dorm room in a twin bed with Spiderman sheets and an Avengers comforter. After Thursday practice he drives 80 miles north to Austin to be with his family, fulfill his Longhorn Network duties and play in his softball and flag football leagues.
For The Win has more on Williams’ decor choices, suggesting that he simply needed some sheets for his small bed, which he was able to find at Target:
When Williams first got his room assignment, he forgot how small twin beds are. So he went to the kids section at Target and bought bedding.
There’s no doubt that Williams has always marched to the beat of his own drum, but it’s a pretty cool drum if I say so myself.
