Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten continues to be a major fixture at the position in the world of fake football.
Witten erupted once again in Week 5 for Dallas, this time in an offensive shootout against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
While quarterback Tony Romo found Dez Bryant and rookie Terrance Williams more often, Witten still got his usual take as well with seven receptions for 121 yards and one score.
The stellar output marks the first time in 2013 Witten has gone for over 100 yards in a game and the first time he has scored since the opener at beginning of September.
It was easy to lose faith in Witten’s role with the Dallas offense after a few quiet weeks, but the contest against Denver very much proved he remains a mainstay in the offense and can put up viable fantasy numbers in any matchup.
Witten is still very much a No. 1 tight end in fantasy. As long as Romo is his quarterback, Witten is viable for explosions like his Week 5 performance, and will at least be consistent in all others.
