With The Weinstein Company behind the film, “Suite Fancaise” is already a very, very, very early contender in the 2014 Oscar race. Bet you thought we hadn’t even gotten to this year’s race yet didn’t you? See the first photo from the film below.
We are still probably at least a year away from actually getting to see WWII romance “Suite Francaise”, but today, as the film wraps principal photography following a three month shoot in Brussels, we have the official first image featuring Michelle Williams and Matthias Schoenaerts.
Saul Dibb just recently finished directing the film which follows Williams’ Lucille, a young French woman who is left in the care of her domineering mother-in-law (Kristin Scott Thomas) when her husband goes off to war. She ends up falling for the German officer (Schoenaerts) assigned to guard their home. Sam Riley plays a French officer named Benoit, while Ruth Wilson and Margot Robbie also have supporting roles.
